Purpose and Programs
Our Massage Therapy School assists individuals in learning how they contribute to their own wellness through experiential as well as structured educational programs. Students have fun learning, passing their Boards, preparing for massage therapy licensure, and enjoying exciting careers in the massage and bodywork field.
The Massage Therapy Program has four segments:
Therapeutic Massage 295 hours
Anatomy & Physiology 125 hours
Related Modalities 50 hours
Allied Modalities 50 hours
Total Program 520 hours
In one year, students experience as many as 48 different types of healing modalities which we call Allied Modalities. Students can design their massage certification program to target a specific niche or they can purse a generalist track. A Gathering Place Massage School staff are helpful and flexible to assist you in meeting your needs.
A sample include: Aromatherapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, Crystal Singing Bowls, Spa and Wraps Experience, Energywork such as Reiki and Healing Touch, Reflexology, Thai massage, Watsu (warm water Shiatsu) and LaStone Therapy (Hot Stone Therapy), Trigger Point Therapy, and Myofascial Release.
Our massage class sizes are kept small, so there is more time for attention from your instructors. We create a 'family atmosphere" at school; our students and staff live the experience of "We Really Care!" And this filters out to all we do at school and in the community!
Massage classes are offered in the Daytime and Evenings. We have Full Time and Part Time classes. Our Evening classes are Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 - 10:00pm and our Daytime classes are Mondays and Thursdays, from 10:00am - 2:00pm.
Tuition for the program is $7000.00, with books and fees at $425.00.
We have flexible and affordable payment plans, which correspond with full-time and part-time program participation. We are approved for Government Funding through Veterans' Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Workforce Investment Act.
For those students seeking Medical Massage Therapy curriculum or more information about our Massage Therapy Program, please contact our Program Administrator for assistance with this 525 hour program..
A Gathering Place has at the core of its purpose:
- To educate the community, developing awareness of ways to facilitate healing and wholeness in body, mind and spirit
- To demonstrate the therapeutic benefits of massage
- To graduate responsible, professional massage therapists who can serve and educate the community
- To prepare students to successfully pass the national massage therapy exam, sponsored by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
Our students continually demonstrate these goals as they successfully pass their National Boards. We have a 93% Pass Ratio (cumulative) on National Boards!
